VETcert

VETcert is an EU funded project that aims to harmonise skills and knowledge recognition in veteran tree management across Europe.

This Erasmus+ funded project brings together seven partners from ten European countries, including the UK, Sweden, Belgium, Spain, France, Czech Republic and Germany; the UK being represented by the Ancient Tree Forum and the Arboricultural Association.

The project objectives are:

• Recognise skills and knowledge in veteran tree management.
• Define minimum skills and knowledge at two operational levels: practicing and consulting tree work professionals.
• Increase the opportunities for tree work professionals across Europe.
• Raise standards in veteran tree management across Europe.

The project runs from December 2016 to October 2019, afterwhich time the certification scheme will be available for entry.
